Comedies
Laughter has served me well throughout life; it has enabled
me to forget virtually all of my forays onto the dating scene, for example,
thereby saving a bunch in Prozac. So I am occasionally a bit more enthusiastic
about comedies than the actual jokes in the movie would warrant. Those
of you who love to be amused but are not easily amused may wish to apply
a 20% discount to whatever recommendation I give here. But the reviews
also (I hope) provide an accurate summary of a film's weaknesses and strengths,
enabling you to conduct your own quality judgments, which will probably
involve a lot fewer adverbs than mine do.
